I got a shock this week…

We all like to feel we are progressing. How do you take your practice to the “next level”?

Something arrived by snail mail this week that gave me a surprise but then I thought, maybe it isn’t bad after all. More on that later in this article.

When I had my own dental office I was always looking to take my practice to the “next level”.

The process was simple.

Using honest and sometimes painful introspection I’d try to work out what my practice’s greatest weakness was — i.e. what was holding me and the practice back.

It could be, for example:

  • my lack of soft skills

  • my lack of technical skills

  • insufficient equipment

  • insufficient staff

  • insufficient staff training

  • a disruptive staff member

  • poor marketing

  • inefficient systems

  • fees that were either too low or too high

  • etc.

Then we’d fix the problem and see what happened.

If the diagnosis was correct and the treatment we applied was correct, suddenly the practice would leap forward.

Turnover might jump $10,000 or more a month.

Then the process would start over looking for the next thing holding us back.

I loved the process of continuous improvement. It kept the practice of dentistry fresh and interesting.

Which leads on to the surprise.

I’m presenting a seminar on 16 May in Melbourne about case acceptance. — how to get patients to understand and accept the treatment that they need.

More information here.

But, in a magazine I received via snail mail this week I found out that on the same day in Brisbane a cosmetic dentistry seminar is happening.

A disappointing clash. Not ideal.

But then it occurred to me that it all depends on their needs as to which seminar dentists should attend.

There are over 20,000 dentists in Australia.

If the main thing that’s holding you back are soft skills and your ability to get case acceptance then you should come to my seminar in Melbourne. My seminar will propel you forward without any doubt. It will help you by:

  • making your life easier

  • making your practice more profitable

  • getting you to offer ideal dentistry to all you patients

  • getting you over the fears of rejection and discussing money

  • and much more…

But, if your technical technical skills in the area of cosmetic dentistry are the big thing holding you back then you probably should be in Brisbane.

It’s that simple.

I hope that soft skills are what you need and you decide to come to my seminar in Melbourne.
