It's not a democracy

I was in a practice recently where they had taken staff empowerment to a ridiculous level and it was stressing the dentist and majorly damaging productivity.The practice has 3 nurses and each is allowed free reign to set up for procedures however they want. As a result the dentist has to operate according to three very different work flows.This is democracy gone mad!The dentist as both the responsible party (legally) and the producer of billable income has to have things arranged to suit themselves. It is not up to the nurses to dictate your workflow.Dentists, if  your nursing team is not working exactly as you would like them to then now is the time to put things right. Your workflow must suit you perfectly. It must make your day easy and your time efficient.
